Most people who enter the estate planning process have only a vague idea of what they want to accomplish. With each workshop, I take you on a journey of discovery and education. Beginning with your true motivation, guiding principles, ideals, beliefs and personal insights, morally as well as financially, we create the foundation for sustaining your estate plan.

From determining your last wishes regarding both values and valuables, organizing your financial, legal, household, health, personal, and final arrangements, or finding the most desirable outcome in holding, managing, and distributing your hard earned assets, these workshops will give you new insights, skills, and solutions that will motivate you to make changes that bring more joy, order, balance and peace of mind in your life.

Creating a Loving Legacy Applying the 12 Gifts featured in the bestselling book and movie The Ultimate Gift by renowned author Jim Stovall, this special workshop guides you through the process of creating a legacy statement that reveals your guiding principles, ideals, beliefs, and personal insights, morally as well as financially.  It is possible to give without loving, but impossible to love without giving. The attitude of giving without loving motives or instructions undermines the gifts we leave to our beneficiaries or charities. Love not only prompts us to be generous in what we give but also to be responsible in why and how we give. Let these become a compass for creating your estate plan that serves as a celebration for life, clarifying what you want to do and why you want to do it.

Estate Planning for Non-Traditional Families    Typical estate planning focuses on traditional married couples. Most people who are in a committed non-traditional relationship do not have an estate plan that protects their wishes for providing for each other or may not do any estate planning at all. Good Estate Planning Essentials Do all the legal terms, tax codes, and state and federal laws involving inheritance and estate planning leave your head spinning? Learn what these mean in everyman's language to make qualified, competent decisions prior to implementing an estate plan. Subjects include: History of the Death Tax; The Probate Process; Will your estate have to pay taxes?; Federal Estate and Gift Tax Exclusions; Unlimited Marital Deduction; Legal methods of ownership to avoid probate; Separate and Community Property; The Living Trust; Roles and Responsibilities; Stepped-Up Valuation and Capital Gains Tax; Appointment of Guardian and Conservator; Giving it Away during life.

Good Estate Planning Advanced How do you provide for a special needs child; how can you control the distributions from your IRA/Qualified Plan; how can you be assured there will be an inheritance for your grandchildren; what if your estate exceeds the federal estate tax exclusions? Organize Yourself Entrepreneurial Style  No matter how good your intentions may be, you are going to have the world come at you faster than you can keep up. It's not your fault if you struggle every day with too much paper and nowhere to put it; if you forget to do things; if you're late or not prepared for a meeting; if you can't find it when you need it; or if you never have enough time to get things done. Learn how to make decisions about all the "incoming stuff" in your life, such as voice mail, email, paper mail, etc. and "stuff in your head".

Organizing for Your Brain Type Have you ever considered that the environment you have created to support your needs really isn't that supportive and may even be a hindrance? Trying to get organized can be counterproductive if you don't use your natural preference to conquer clutter. According to Dr. Arlene Taylor, a brain function specialist, we tend to have a "preference" in processing information according to which area in our brain is more dominant. Learn what the strengths and challenges are for your Brain Type; how to design your "paper processing space" to support your Brain Type; how to get along with other brain types.

The 2008 Annual Nevada Women’s Expo at the Reno Sparks Convention Center. 

It was another fabulous conference for women in April. I enjoyed meeting previous acquaintances, talking with those that have taken my workshops, and meeting many new people that are interested in learning about estate organizing and the Living Trust. My next door neighbor was Lizz Stanley, who is a photographer who provides a backup photographic inventory service, Virtual Image Solutions. Get more information on Lizz in the Useful Links page. 

This year Creative Estate Organizers offered a Grand Prize Drawing for a Revocable Estate Plan Living Trust. The Estate Plan Living Trust will be reviewed and executed with an estate planning attorney licensed in the State of Nevada.The winner is Vanessa Ornelas from Reno, NV.
